Market StructureDirty float is a common name for a managed float regime, which describes an environment in which exchange rates fluctuate from day to day, but central banks attempt to influence their countries’ exchange rates by buying and selling currencies to maintain a certain range. It is a common regime for a number of emerging countries such as China and India.
